Powder Bathroom Refresh || Week 1 Inspiration

6:00 AM

Hi There, If you're hopping over from My Eclectic Nest - Welcome! I can't wait to see how Tiffany transforms her bathroom each week! I'm thrilled to be a part of the Primp & Pamper Bathroom Refresh Blog Hop this March. A BIG thanks to Jewel at Jeweled Interiors for putting this together! She and Jessica at Domicile37 have gone above and beyond helping this newbie become a real life blogger;) Make sure to check out all the fabulous participants.
Soo....this week is a BIG ONE. I'm debuting my new blog as well as sharing our Powder Bathroom Refresh for the March Primp and Pamper Bathroom Refresh.

I've spent the last month ordering and culling together a new look for our very sad powder bathroom. The inspiration for the new look began with a Pagoda style mirror purchased a few years ago. I wanted to update the space to reflect the new vibe of the home.
Here you see the bathroom as it was when we purchased the home. This is the listing picture, and it is the only bathroom that has been "updated". The prior owners had replaced the vanity, faucet, hardware and toilet. The wallpaper was a faux paint vinyl......so I knew this would be an easy first project.

This is the current view as you open the pocket door.  The wallpaper has been removed....on move-in day! Notice the new window? The seal on the old window was broken causing a significant draft, so we realized it would need to be replaced before winter. Honestly, our whole refresh budget was spent on this one new window which cost $1,200 with installation. Not a fun purchase;)

I love this pagoda style mirror- you can find one similar HERE We will have to move the light fixture to the ceiling and have some electrical work done in order to hang this tall mirror. Here's to getting the husband excited to do electrical work;)

My thoughts on the tile flooring: you can see that the tile is in good condition and is a neutral color - there is nothing wrong with this tile; it is just not my preference. We will be painting the tile (having seen lots of pretty DIY's on Pinterest:). Thanks to Thomas Mach Interiors for all the help and info on the Annie Sloan paint.

A full view of the cabinet that I plan to paint.

Plan of Action:
1. Wallpaper these sad wall with wallpaper by SmithHönig - I cannot wait for it to arrive! You can find HERE
2. A new rug for the floor: The Rug is from RUGS USA and can be found HERE
3. New Lighting by Lamps Plus and I have selected the Orbit Warm Brass 10 bulb Chandelier. You can find it HERE
4. Refresh with pretty brass hardware from Liberty Hardware. You can find them HERE
5. Paint the Cabinet with Velvet Finishes Bold paint colors and can be found HERE
6. Paint the sad tile with chalk paint from Annie Sloan via Thomas Mach Interiors (here in Simsbury, Connecticut- they ship!) You can find it HERE
7. Hang my Pagoda Mirror - You can find a similar one (in several different color options) HERE Or the original I found on HOUZZ but much pricier:(

Side note: some of the items in this refresh are sponsored items. Please know, I have selected each item for this particular update, and all thoughts and opinions are mine:) My goal is to provide you with honest feedback about the products during this refresh project.

Once again, thank you to the lovely Jewel Marlowe at Jeweled Interiors for putting this Blog Hop together and to all the lovely Sponsors.
