ORC Week 4 || Let's Paint the Ceiling!
7:44 AM
Welcome back to Week 4 of the One Room Challenge! First, a huge thank you to Calling it Home & House Beautiful for hosting this amazing event.
This week we painted the ceiling with Farrow & Ball's Cook's Blue
We tested a few paint colors on the ceiling and tried Farrow & Ball's Cook's Blue via the recommendation of Thomas Mach Interiors. Thomas, is a color expert, and has been a huge help when choosing paint colors for our home!
My husband loves to paint with Farrow & Ball. Why? He loves how easy it is to apply the paint (we've used several other paints but Farrow & Ball has the best pigmentation). It's water based and eco friendly so it doesn't have a strong smell and I don't have to worry about being around it pregnant.
These pictures were taken right after the paint was applied. I'm a huge a fan of Farrow & Ball paint. I love the saturation of pigment and how it gives each color a rich hue that changes with the light.
Here is the room once we removed the plastic and replaced the chandelier. I love how the ceiling color turned out!
Side note- the mess is killing me! With family visiting the last few weeks all the nursery decor has been placed in the room for the sake of "keeping it all together" I'm looking forward to organizing the room this weekend!
Here is a bit more of a cleaned up version!;)
In other news, we were unable to locate the parts to our vintage crib. I think they were misplaced in our cross country move. So...I've been looking for a new one and finally think I found one! I love this brass look alike I found on amazon.
Also, I'm excited to report that my Snuggle Me Infant Lounger arrived! I have heard wonderful things about the company and their loungers. The lounger is sophisticatedly made to snuggle your babe in a way that recreates the womb. The founder, Mia Carr, developed this lounger after having twins. She wanted a nest like place to comfort her babes while she tended to life.
Snuggle Me Infant Lounger is the best functioning and highest quality baby lounger on the market- wanna know more? Check them out HERE I love that it is made to snuggle and soothe baby while preventing the "startle" reflex.
I choose the "Moss" colored cover from the earth tones collection that launched this week. I love the feel of the fabric and knowing that it will be a safe and comfortable place to lay brother.
It was a big week for our family! We had family visit, filmed an episode with HGTV - more on that later;) and now I'm off to celebrate my mom's 65th Birthday! I can't wait to spend more time with family and relax before we set out to complete this room!
Up next is the changing table transformation. We are repurposing an antique Chinese Buffet by adding a base so that is it tall enough to be used as a changing table. Wish us luck!;))
As the room comes together so does the design board!;) So make sure to check out the updated source list below with direct links! I'm thrilled to be adding Snuggle Me Organic Infant Loungers to my list of Sponsors as well as Janie and Jack Childrens Apparel!
